Shanghai Museum opened the exhibition "World of Faberge" from the collection of the Moscow Kremlin Museums and the Mineralogical Museum named after A. Fersman. The exhibition is dedicated to the Year of Russian tourism in China and is on the eve of the 400th anniversary of the Imperial Romanov's House. The exhibition is organized by: The State Historical and Cultural Museum "The Moscow Kremlin", Shanghai Museum, Interstate Corporation of Development.
Exhibition in China, the Shanghai Museum, is dedicated to Russian jewelry art of XIX - early XX century. For the first time the collections of the royal supplier Carl Faberge and other Russian gold and silversmiths are represented in the country, which has been famous for skilled cutters, jewelers, enamel and a significant collection of jewelry. More than 240 items are exhibited. These are religious and memorial works, jewelry, dishes, silverware, products made of colored stones, as well as masterpieces of the collection - unique Faberge Easter eggs made for the last two Russian empresses.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition "World of Faberge", held at Shanghai Museum, was attended by Minister-Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in the People's Republic of China Eugene Tomihin, General Consul of the Russian Federation in Shanghai Andrew Smorodin, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Sun Li Zi, Interstate Corporation of Development CEO Ivan Polyakov, General Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums Elena Gagarina, Shanghai Museum director Chen Xiejun, director of the Mineralogical musuem named after A. Fersman Victor Garanin, Senior Fellow of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, a leading expert of Faberge, the exhibition curator Tatiana Muntyan.
